Iranian Daily Banned

TEHRAN The Persian-language daily *****Hambastegi****, managed by Majlis Deputy Ebrahim Baisalami, was banned on Wednesday.

The daily was closed because of serious infringement of security laws of the country.

The daily was banned for making serious allegations and accusations against the Judiciary Chief, Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi, in its Wednesday issue. The daily had quoted an MP as saying that Shahroudi is not an Iranian national and because of this very reason he has created the recent tensions in the country.
